Charlie's songs are known for their bittersweet, subversive and original lyrics, addictive melodies and intricate harmonies. From the double-award winning folk ballad, 'Looking For My Own Lone Ranger'  to the rootsy Cuban, 'Maximum Bob' to her iconic radio favourite, 'Pilot of the Airwaves', the music refuses to be pigeon-holed. Her songs have been covered by the good and the great, including George Harrison, Tina Turner, Ricky Ross and Celine Dion, but her live concerts reveal that actually she keeps the best songs for herself. Charlie will be previewing songs Milk Roulette, her brand new album to be released Autumn ’14.

One of the UK’s most respected songwriters, over an unusually diverse career her songs have won two Ascap awards, an Ivor Novello nomination, both the Overall Grand and the Folk Prize from the International Acoustic Music Awards and in 2012 Best Lyrics from the Indy Acoustic Project for her album Cheapskate Lullabyes.

With Julian Littman alongside, constantly swapping guitars, harmonies, mandolin, ukulele and Indian Harmonium between them, the festival line up also features violin and double bass - a welcome return for the Hula Valley Orchestra, whose last Henely appearance was with Jools Holland at his summer concert at Stonor.
